Eugenics and Scientific Racism at Stanford and Beyond
From 2020 - 2021, CEHG hosted a thought-provoking seminar series focused on the intersection of eugenics with the sciences, acknowledging the persisting influence of our forerunners and discussing how to grow beyond their legacy. Headed by Professor Marc Feldman alongside Professor Jessica Riskin and Ben Maldonado, these nine lectures were hosted entirely online. This format allowed the center to reach more interested participants across the country, as well as easily invite speakers from cross-national institutions to share their perspectives on this topic. Researchers from diverse backgrounds spanning genetics, medicine, psychology, social sciences, and beyond came together over examining a commonality; the presence of eugenics within the histories of their disciplines.
