Abstract: 23andMe is a DTC genetic testing company founded in 2007. In this seminar, I will discuss some of our new and old ancestry-related algorithms.
Kimberly joined 23andMe in 2017 where she manages an R&D team that develops new methods and features for customers to learn about their ancestry and relatives. Prior to 23andMe, she was a Software Engineer at LinkedIn. Kimberly earned her PhD in Biology and Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University in 2015, where she studied demography and selection in diverse populations of humans and other great apes in Carlos Bustamante's lab.
