CEHG Outreach volunteers visit local middle school

On February 29, 2016, a team of six CEHG grad students, volunteers, and staff members visited Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto and led two middle-school classrooms in an activity-based curriculum on blood typing and inheritance. As the brand new CEHG Outreach program's first event, volunteers put in a lot of time and work developing curriculum that would engage 7th and 8th graders. The day went off without a hitch and the team thoroughly enjoyed their time with the engaged students of Eastside Prep and their dedicated teacher, Jen Johnson.

We hope to have another chance to visit Eastside Prep in the near future and we are seeking other school and educator partners to organize classroom visits for the upcoming 2016-17 school year. Contact stanfordcehg@stanford.edu if you are interested in being a volunteer classroom facilitator or a school/ educator program partner!
